Police in Georgia charged dad Charlie May with child abuse for going too far with a punishment.

Was it child abuse or an effective way to get his son to man up?

A father is accused of child cruelty after he punished his teen son by making him carry at 23-pound landscape stone for miles.

Charlie Mayes, 40, and a military veteran told police that his son watched too many videos and failed to perform his chores or do school work.

“This was done multiple times over a three-day period, sometimes as early as 3 o’clock in the morning,” Police Sgt. Todd Garner said.

Garner said the teen is just 4’2″ tall and in between carrying the stone he had to do other chores.

“He was at home having to move rocks and stuff from one side of the back yard to the other and then being taken right back out to the same location and dropped off and made to walk back again,” Garner told USA Today.

Police said the father didn’t deny the allegations or believe he did anything wrong.

“He did not feel that this was inappropriate at all and neither did his wife,” police told USA Today.
