Some dads do it for themselves. Others come for their kids.

We’re talking about a boot camp for dads and their tikes in Edmonton just profiled on Global News in Canada, where dads work out, the kids exercise and fathers even use the kids themselves as weights!

How cool is that?

Dad Sean Gravelle says he signed up for the class to spend time with his daughter.

“I can go to the gym and work out anytime,” Gravelle told Global News. “It’s important for me to do something with her that promotes activity.”

While there are tons are classes for moms. There a few for dads.

So this is a way for dads to get down and dirty with their kids and get them into shape.

“Healthy, physically active kids also are more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful. And physical competence builds self-esteem at every age,” according to the website KidsHealth.org.

The “Daddy & Me Boot Camp” is the creation of Jesse Lipscombe, a fitness trainer in Edmonton.

“It’s always mommy, mommy, mommy,” Lipscombe tells Global News. “I’m a daddy. I’m gonna take care of daddy first.”
