It’s a scene repeated time and time again across America.

You forget something in your car so you go out to get it.

That is what a 17-year-old did in St. Louis, in the Bevo Mill neighborhood, when two armed men put a gun to her head and forced her to walk toward the house.

The girl’s mom and dad watched in horror from the window.

Instead of freezing, dad and mom both got their guns.

The hero dad came out the door confronted the men and opened fire, hitting both of them. Mom also fired!

One man went down, the other ran and was later arrested after he called a relative saying he’d been shot.

The father says he’s not a hero dad.

“He was holding her hostage like she was a human shield,” the father, who did not want his face shown or name used, told KTVI in St. Louis. “I did what I had to do.

“I had no choice. He had my daughter.”

The dad had no idea why anyone would target his house or daughter.
