RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Daddyhood.net)

imagesA Southern California dad died trying to stop his daughter from driving drunk and killing herself or someone else.

According to police, the daughter, 37-year-old Soukvilay Barton, backed her convertible BMW out of the garage and hit her father 69-year-old Bounmy Rajsombath who was standing behind the garage trying to prevent her from going anywhere.

He died from his injuries at a local hospital, police said.

Barton was arrested at the scene. When she noticed what she had done, she stopped the car and sat the car crying, according to authorities.

Witnesses told The Associated Press that Barton had been drinking and arguing with family members earlier in the day.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Barton was arrested at the scene on suspicion of DUI and is being held at the Riverside County Jail.
