Who needs a reality show to become famous?
Just get arrested on felony charges and have a prior record.
Jeremy Meeks is 30, and he’s a dad (has a son). He’s also a Stockton, Calif. felon.
He’s become an overnight sensation because he’s good looking and not even a jail intake camera can take that away apparently!
His booking photo was posted on the Stockton Police Department’s Facebook page as part of its standard law enforcement practice. Then it went viral. It got more than 50,000 likes, 10,000 plus comments and thousands of shares.
And here we are at Daddyhood writing a story about it!
Meeks faces illegal gun possession and gang-related charges.
Sacramento station KXTV got a jailhouse interview with Meeks who informed him about his newfound popularity. (News clip below.)
Meeks said he wants the public aware he’s not a bad person.
“I just want them to know that this is really not like me, I’m not some kingpin,” he told KNXV.
His mother, Katherine Angier, created a fundraising page to help her son when he goes to trial.
“He is so sweet,” she says on the page. “He is a working man with a son. He is being stereotyped due to old tattoos. Please help him to get a fair trial or else he’ll be railroaded.”
As of this writing, more than $1,000 has been donated to the cause.
That booking photo has already been photoshopped into a Calvin Klein ad, classic black and white, sans the tattoo which was also magically erased.
Yep, you know where there is going.
