He may be known as King James. But perhaps we should start calling him Lebron James family man.
Though widely known as an amazing basketball player, Lebron James defines himself as a family man.
With this decision to make the move back to Cleveland from Miami, it’s clear that the priorities in life have changed. Lebron James is expecting a girl. He’s about to be a dad… again. And with two boys already, he says in thinking about where he wants to raise his family, he decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He made the announcement in an exclusive with Sports Illustrated.
“I have two boys and my wife, Savannah, is pregnant with a girl,” he told SI. “I started thinking about what it would be like to raise my family in my hometown. I looked at other teams, but I wasn’t going to leave Miami for anywhere except Cleveland. The more time passed, the more it felt right. This is what makes me happy.”
Here’s more of what Lebron James family man told SI:
When I left Cleveland, I was on a mission. I was seeking championships, and we won two. But Miami already knew that feeling. Our city hasn’t had that feeling in a long, long, long time. My goal is still to win as many titles as possible, no question. But what’s most important for me is bringing one trophy back to Northeast Ohio.
I always believed that I’d return to Cleveland and finish my career there. I just didn’t know when. After the season, free agency wasn’t even a thought. But I have two boys and my wife, Savannah, is pregnant with a girl.
I started thinking about what it would be like to raise my family in my hometown. I looked at other teams, but I wasn’t going to leave Miami for anywhere except Cleveland. The more time passed, the more it felt right. This is what makes me happy.
The reactions on social media that Lebron James is coming home has been non-stop. Apparently no hard-feelings linger from when James betrayed Cleveland and moved to Miami.
Welcome Home @kingjames. I am excited for the fans and people of Cleveland and Ohio. No fans and people deserve a winner more than them…..
