Employee survey: Financial wellness programs are important

Disconnect: More than 70-percent say they want financial wellness but less than 30-percent of employers provide the benefit

financial wellnessWhether you’re a dad who owns a business or work for one, this might be of interest: A new nationwide survey of employees shows that the vast majority want financial wellness to be included as part of a company’s wellness program.

Though 71-percent say they want it, according to the financial wellness firm, Four Seasons Financial Education, only about 27-percent of companies offer such a program, the FSFE says.

“We see this demand increasing over the next 10 years as employers play a larger role in the physical, mental and financial wellness of their employees,” says Travis Freeman, president of FSFE. “Our personal finances haven’t become simpler over the last decade; they’ve become more complex.”

According to Four Seasons Financial, employees will seek out employers that offer financial wellness as a benefit.

Financial wellness is more than a person’s financial health, but a comprehensive look of one’s financial attitude, financial situation, behavior and financial satisfaction.
