Wonder mare Winx has created history again by becoming the first horse to win three consecutive George Main Stakes.
In front of more than 13,000 racegoers, the champion mare also extended her winning sequence to 27 consecutive victories.
And it was the Winx we've become so familiar with too, dominating the $500,000 Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m).
Jockey Hugh Bowman positioned Winx last after she jumped from barrier three of seven before showing incredible acceleration at the 200m to register an amazing five-length win on a near-perfect Randwick surface.
‘I didn't expect them to go quite that fast. I didn't think she was in danger, but it wasn't going to be as dominate. She knows now. That's the first time I have niggled her around the corner in a 1600m race,' Bowman said.
'It keeps going to a new level every time,' said a humbled and emotional Chris Waller after a very special performance.
Her latest success edges her closer to $20 million in prizemoney and extends her unbeaten streak well beyond three years.
Two punters will be well pleased with her performance.
A bet of $155,000 at $1.10 was placed on the champion earlier today and followed up with another whopping $120,000 at the same price.
Other notable bets on Winx included $39,730 @ $1.10, $20,000 @ $1.10, $13,000 @ $1.10, $10,000 @ $1.10 multiple times.
RACE SNAPSHOT WITH SHAYNE O'CASS
1ST: WINX: Second to last early, one off fence, took off three wide at the 600m, chased down the leader and powered away.
2ND: LE ROMAIN: Ideally placed third, always travelling, hit the lead and set up a break at the 250m but was quickly overhauled by the winner.
3RD: EGG TART: Well back, chased hard from behind Winx at the 250m, almost collared the runner-up, good for further now.
SHE'S APPLES: That was 27 straight for our Champion Winx and it won't be long before she amasses $20m in prizemoney.
THE QUOTE: From James McDonald after the race was 'I thought I pinched it but that was stupid of me, wasn't it?'
