A female fugitive on the run from police in China has been dubbed the country's most attractive criminal after her mugshot appeared on social media.
Qingchen Jingjing is accused of being involved in a criminal gang that scammed cash from customers in bars and tea-houses, the South China Morning Post reports.
Police were alerted to the gang's alleged activity when a man complained he had been fleeced out of thousands of yuan at a bar in the city of Mianyang in Sichuan.
'Being beautiful is not your problem, but using your looks to commit illegal crimes is not right,' the media outlet quoted a police Weibo account as saying.
Qingchen is not the first alleged criminal to gain online celebrity over their looks.
US man Jeremy Meeks became known as the ‘hot felon' after his mugshot was released online.
Meeks was arrested as part of a gang sweep and jailed for gun possession and grand theft.
He'd previously served two years for assaulting a 16-year-old boy when he was 18 and admitted to being a member of the North Side Gangster Crips, in Washington.
But his life of crime was quickly glossed over upon his release as he was snapped up by a Hollywood agent and turned into a fashion model.
