Female warder, 27, accused of having a relationship with an inmate

A female prison officer has been accused of having a relationship with an inmate at a young offenders' institution where she worked. 
Stacey Sutherland, 27, of Barnard Castle, Co Durham, appeared today at Newtown Aycliffe Magistrates' Court, accused of abusing the public's trust by entering into a relationship with an inmate. 
She is accused of having the inappropriate relationship with the prisoner at HMP Deerbolt in Co Durham between April 1 and May 14. 
Sutherland only spoke to confirm her name, address and date of birth during the five-minute hearing. 
District Judge Tim Capstick granted Sutherland unconditional bail ordering her to reappear at Teesside Crown Court on December 6.
