target Steven Bergwijn has hinted he is willing to wait for an approach from Bayern Munich
before considering a move to Old Trafford.
The PSV Eindhoven winger is one of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and has been tracked by a number of Premier League clubs including United, Tottenham
Bergwijn burst onto the scene with a series of dazzling displays in 2017/18 and followed that up last campaign by scoring 14 goals and contributing 12 assists in the Eredivisie.
His performances have landed him on the radar of Europe's elite and the 21-year-old seems to have his eye on Bayern.
The German giants are looking to strengthen in wide areas and replace Franck Ribery, who left at the end of last season, and the recently retired Arjen Robben.
They have made enquiries for Manchester City's Leroy Sane but do see Bergwijn as an alternative if they cannot convince Sane to return to Germany.
Speaking to ESPN
, Bergwijn's agent Fulco van Kooperen insists his client is willing to wait for Bayern to make their move before considering offers from elsewhere.
He said: 'We have never, never said we are losing patience.
'Bayern are a great and huge club and it's great they like Steven. They can take all the time they need.'
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is scouring the transfer market for players who could inject some life into United's attack this summer.
He looks set to lose Romelu Lukaku and with Marcus Rashford set to be deployed more centrally next season, the Norwegian could do with adding depth in wide areas.
However, with Spurs, Inter Milan and Ajax all said to be interested in Bergwijn too, his agent hinted Bayern should not wait too long before making their interest official.
'On the other side, it's not a secret there are more clubs which like him,' Van Kooperen added.
