Preston North End are close to finalising a deal for Walsall midfielder Josh Ginnelly.
The 21-year-old winger has been left out of Walsall's last two games after Preston tabled an offer and he is expected to join the Championship club on January 1.
Ginnelly was released by Burnley in the summer and only agreed a one year contract at Walsall but has impressed in his 25 games, scoring four goals.
Preston are in need of some new faces as they look to galvanise themselves ahead of the second half of the campaign.
Alex Neil's side currently sit 17th with 28 points from 24 games and the boss knows he needs to bolster their attacking arsenal.
With just seven points keeping them away from the relegation zone, January will be a crucial window for Preston and the sides around them.
Ginnelly will provide pace in wide areas and competition for places but it will come as a blow to Dean Keates and Walsall supporters to lose a player who has impressed for them.
