West Ham 'make loan offer for former Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain'

West Ham
United are reportedly trying to recruit former Chelsea
striker Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus
The 31-year-old spent the final four months of last season on loan at Stamford Bridge, scoring five goals in 18 matches for the Blues.
After failing to secure a permanent move to Chelsea, Higuain returned to Turin where he has two more years on his Juventus contract.
But Higuain's future at Juve seems far from clear as the Italian champions are now managed by former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri — the man who brought him to London in January.
Higuain could yet be afforded another chance to shine in the English capital, though as, according to Sky Sport Italia
, West Ham have proposed a season-long loan deal to bring him to the London Stadium.
It's claimed Juventus would prefer to sell the striker outright and are said to value him at around £40million. West Ham's loan offer would likely include an option to buy.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has made sourcing a new frontman his top priority this summer after last season's leading scorer Marko Arnautovic joined Chinese club Shanghai SIPG on Monday.
The Hammers had been keen to sign Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo but he now seems set to join Valencia.
