McAvaney was recorded in the Channel 7 studio watching Chris Waller's mighty mare shoot for her 27th straight win, but it wasn't an easy ride.
Hugh Bowman had to get busy on the champ in the straight, and McAvaney knew she would have to produce her trademark finishing burst win.
'She's got her work cut out,' McAvaney said nervously. 'She's in trouble.'

But his concern was short-lived, and after an adjustment of his glasses, he saw Winx click into gear.
'She's home,' he said as he thumped the table. 'C'mon, she's home. She's gunna do it. She's got it. Oh, look at this. Look at this.'

McAvaney, a passionate racing follower, has said Winx deserves to rated alongside Phar Lap as Australia's greatest horse. Winx's effort on Saturday was her 20th at Group 1 level, and it extended her winning streak to 27.
Winx is likely to head to Melbourne for her next start before taking aim at an unprecedented fourth straight Cox Plate.
